Erosion control is the practice of preventing or controlling wind, water or human attrition to soil. Erosion controls are used in natural areas, agricultural settings or urban environments which may require specialised treatments to stabilise the soil profile and enable revegetation.

GreenLife Group is experienced in several erosion control techniques. The process of hydro-mulching is regularly used by pressure-spraying a mixture of seed, fertiliser, mulch, binder and water onto the prepared area. This process is ideal on steep batter slopes, and in creeks and drains, where there is limited access for conventional equipment.

Another method is the installation of Jute matting to protect trees and shrubs, reducing weed growth and the use of damaging herbicides.

Jute matting is an ideal treatment in areas where concentrated amounts of water or wind accumulate such as drains and steep batters as it enhances water absorbtion whilst protecting precious topsoils.

Urban wetlands are widely appreciated for their role in improving the quality of storm water and keeping our waterways healthy by acting as natural filters. Wetlands also provide habitat and sanctuary for wildlife. Most are accessible to the public and commonly feature in newly constructed residential and commercial estates. For communities to benefit, wetlands must be designed, constructed and maintained to provide a sustainable environmental and recreational resource.

The qualified and experienced personnel at GreenLife Group are able to provide construction, establishment and ongoing maintenance services for wetland infrastructure.

Services include nutrient stripping ponds, retention basins, drainage channels, water gardens and swales, as well as enhancing natural features such as catchment areas and creeks.
